Bread Gulab Jamun is very easy to prepare and is a quick alternative to the regular mawa Gulab Jamuns.The best gulab jamuns are made with khoya, but there are alternatives like bread which do come to rescue if you do not get khoya or mawa. However you cannot compare them with the taste of traditional gulab jamun. This mouth-drooling and super delicious bread gulab jamun can be served warm or chilled as per your choice or preference.

Soft, easy, and lip-smacking instant Bread Gulab Jamun recipe. This can be an easy alternative especially if you have some leftover loaves of bread. Bread Gulab Jamun is very easy to prepare and is a quick alternative to the regular mawa Gulab Jamuns.
Steps of Making Bread Gulab Jamun
Remove the sides or the edges (brown crust) from the bread slices.
Put the bread slices in a grinder jar and grind them finely to make crumbs. Transfer the bread crumbs into a bowl.
Add two tablespoons of milk powder.
Combine everything together and knead using milk into a soft dough.
Add one teaspoon of desi ghee or clarified butter and mix it well and make a soft dough
Divide the dough into equal parts.
Now take a ball and flatten it. Place a few sliced or chopped dry fruits in the center of the flatten ball. You can nuts of your choice or availability. The stuffing part with dry fruits is optional and you can skip this step. Bring the edges together. Join and seal them at the center.
Gently and lightly roll to form a neat ball. Likewise, prepare smooth balls from the dough without applying much pressure. Prepare all the gulab jamuns this way. Cover and keep aside.
for preparing sugar syrup, Take another pan. Take 1 cup sugar (200 grams) and 2 cups of water. Stir well so that all the sugar melts. Cook the syrup till it feels sticky and not watery. Now add cardamom powder. Mix well and keep aside. You may add rose water or kewda water instead. It will take around 8-10 minutes to prepare the sugar syrup.
Heat the oil or ghee on low flame to medium flame and when the ghee is moderately hot, fry the gulab jamun balls on low flame stirring in between. Keep on turning & rotating them often for even frying. Fry till the balls turn golden brown.
When fried, take them out of the oil using sieve and drop these fried balls into the hot sugar syrup.
Boil the sugar syrup for 5 minutes after you add fried gulab jamuns. cover the lid and rest for 2 hours. Finally, bread gulab jamuns have doubled in size. serve warm or cold garnished with few chopped nuts.
